How it works

  1. 1. Twelve pieces each on the dark squares. Black moves first; whoever accepts the game is black.
  2. 2. Men move diagonally forward. Jump an enemy piece to capture it, and keep jumping if you like. House rules: no forced captures.
  3. 3. Reach the far row to crown a king, which moves both ways. Take all their pieces, or leave them no moves, to win.
